He walks the streets almost unseen
New Jersey man so serpenteen
They tremble, shaking at their knees
Nobody dares to disagree with...
Lee Van Cleef
Snake eyes are staring at me (Oh oh)
Lee Van Cleef
In a western film on TV.
He hunted mines and submarines
Through fire and gritted teeth
They never had a chance, you see
When sailing foreign seas that steely gaze
Ripped through cast iron skin easily.
Lee Van Cleef
Snake eyes are staring at me (Oh oh)
Lee Van Cleef
In a western film on TV.
For many years we've come to fear
That shimmering High Noon scene
Sergio saw what we would see
Dangerous days ahead indeed
The townsfolk are feeling the heat.
Lee Van Cleef
Snake eyes are staring at me (Oh oh)
Lee Van Cleef
In a western film on TV.

For All Mankind
By Nigel Collyer © Nigel Collyer 2017
The bells are gonna ring
And the Media's gonna talk
About the boys of Beijing
Who've done a space walk
New explorers are in space
And there will be more
Cos we aint got no room
On planet on Earth no more.
America gave us the Moon
For all mankind
Are we going to turn it into
A lunar coalmine
Let the dream stay in our hearts
Leave the treasures in their place
Just make a brand new start
Don't begin another race.
O' Sea Of Serenity
Your dry and dusty coast
Will humans arrive here
And banish the lunar ghost
The non-believers will see
A new Moon through different eyes
But let us hope that it will be
More than a PR exercise.
An orbital floating home
Just not good enough for me
But do we really want to go
Fast food shopping in Tranquility
A wanton disregard
For our satellite's fate
Open your eyes and see the truth
Before it's all too late
Before it's all too late
Before it's all too late.

A Blameless Life
By Nigel Collyer © Nigel Collyer 2017
So here I am with a little surprise
Out of sight, some place you'll never find
I know that it's worth a lot to some
And the story I tell is a very strange one.
But you notice things that appear suspect
Every little corner, every single aspect
I remain so cool, I show no fear
With my smiley little face I grin from ear to ear.
Will you help me out, will you aid my case
My children they are young in a faraway place
You've got me pacing down a one way street
You see my shaky little hands and my twitchy little feet.
I come looking for a man in Finsbury Park
But I gotta be there a'fore it gets too dark
I gotta be on the road by three o'clock
To the address on a ticket in my sock.
So up in town looking for the hotel
The name is Fred, I'll be here for a spell
I'm a-ringing the number cos it's getting late
The voicemail says you're in the USA.
Well it's a blameless life
I've always led
It's a blameless life
I've always led a blameless life, oh yeah.

Climb The Ladder
By Nigel Collyer © Nigel Collyer 2017
In the beginning I'd kneel for your love
You and me together in the ritual as one
My uncertain fears I try to banish
When the skies grow dark you're gonna vanish.
Climb the ladder and kick it away
Climb the ladder and kick it away.
Stop your misbehaving
Cos I still need your big love
And if you started walking
Do I still lean on your crutch
All around the world
Before we started talking
Do you feel the love
Do you feel my love.
You've done me wrong, I thought that we would prosper
You've banged the gong and now I'm off the roster
I was in your power, under your forces
Now I'm just another one of your missing sources.
Brushing off the dust, don't need your help
I'm moving on to where your presence can't be felt
I'm gonna climb the ladder and kick it away
Climb the ladder and kick it away.
All your misbehaving
Left you without love
Now I just keep walking
I don't need your crutch
All around the world
Before we started talking
People in love
People need love.
I've closed the book of you, put it back on the shelf
I'm looking around now, taking pride in myself
I'll never stand on someone the way you stood on me
You're already history, now it's time to be free.
Ready to climb?
Just climb the ladder
Just climb the ladder
Just climb the ladder and kick it away
Just climb the ladder and kick it away
Just climb the ladder and kick it away.

Vincenzo
By Nigel Collyer © Nigel Collyer 2017
Born into a mountain village that could not hold him down
Too many were his siblings, no room to stay around
On a hillside among the olive trees
Herding goats he feels the summer heat.
Leaving home and his country, the military toughens him
He's looking after the wealthy; he serves them rum, he serves them gin
Dancing waves, he sails in southern seas
Sunlit face, he tastes the salty breeze.
He came to us from a special place
None shall forget his smiling face.
A new life in the city, a thousand miles from home
Then he meets a girl so pretty, and he knows that she's the one
After midnight and still upon his feet
He's working hard to raise his family.
Thinking again of his special place
Casting a smile across his face.
A man so proud of his people, but now his work is done
High upon the church steeple, a bell rings in the sun
Memories go on they never end
Outside the bar he's playing cards with friends.
And yes the villagers they know
That he's returning to his home
And if he touched your heart you'll know
That his name was Vincenzo.

Behind The Blinds
By Nigel Collyer © Nigel Collyer 2017
Oh Emily don't be hesitant
He's just a neighbour looking over the fence
Trying to be a good resident
But the way you ignore him don't make any sense.
Your Homepage keeps his dream alive
Nowhere to run, nowhere to hide
As he pays his bills he feels the chill
Of your icy stare at the Post Office till.
All those messages he sent her
He's crawling back on her agenda
He's packed his suitcase
The lights go down at her place
She's turning up the bass
Behind the blinds it's too late.
The camera took away your mystery
He found the pages in your history
I'm not denying he's got a disease
But he spends the whole day admiring your physique.
All those messages he sent her
He's crawling back on her agenda
He's packed his suitcase
The lights go down at her place
She's turning up the bass
Behind the blinds it's too late.
The secret that he never confesses
Touches everything that he possesses
Pictures on the wall filling his place
Every one of them a photo of her face.
All those messages he sent her
He's crawling back on her agenda
He's packed his suitcase
The lights go down at her place
She's turning up the bass
Behind the blinds it's too late
Behind the blinds it's too late.
Behind the blinds it's too late.
Behind the blinds it's too late.
Behind the blinds it's too late.
